Public contracts

Welcome to the public contracts section.

Throughout the year, the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle signs new public procurement procedures and manages several hundred contracts.

To enter into a contract, the Muséum must:

  • evaluate the requirements in a given sector
  • draw up the terms of reference (administrative and technical parts)
  • publicise the procurement sufficiently
  • monitor the services performed by the selected suppliers

This should be done in compliance with the major principles of public procurement:

  • free access to public procurement
  • equal treatment of candidates
  • procedural transparency

These principles should ensure that public procurement is effective and that taxpayers’ money is put to good use.
