Due to the measures taken by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the museums, gardens and zoos of the Museum national d'Histoire naturelle remain close, except the Jardin des Plantes (Garden of Plants), open everyday from 8am to 5.30pm.
We will inform you as soon as possible of the reopening procedures.
The MNHN’s biological anthropology collections are among the world’s most diverse and as such they constitute a unique resource for comparative studies. With approximately 30,000 pieces or lots, the collections are renowned for their outstanding original fossils from the European Palaeolithic, including Cro-Magnons and a number of Neanderthals, as well as for their phrenological and ethnological casts, and mummies.
The mummies collection is not available for visits until its transfer to the Musée de l’Homme is completed.
Nonetheless, loan requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Collections Direction reminds that loan requests shall be transmitted through the Colhelper online form (exhibition section). For further information, please contact : regiecoll@mnhn.fr.
