Confirmation de la présence de Neoepinnula orientalis et Promethichthys prometheus (Gempylidae) dans l’océan Pacifique centre-ouest

Résumé. - Un spécimen de Neoepinnula orientalis (Gilchrist & Von Bonde, 1924) de 136 mm LT fut chaluté aux îles Salomon. Neuf spécimens de Promethichthys prometheus (Cuvier, 1832) de 204 à 400 mm LT, furent capturés aux îles Salomon, Wallis et Futuna et dans l’archipel des îles Vanuatu. Ces captures confirment la présence de ces deux espèces dans ces zones de l’océan Pacifique.

Abstract. - Confirmation of Neoepinnula orientalis and Promethichthys prometheus (Gempylidae) from the Western Central Pacific Ocean.

One specimen of Neoepinnula orientalis (Gilchrist & Von Bonde, 1924) of 136 mm TL was trawled off Solomon Islands. Nine specimens of Promethichthys prometheus (Cuvier, 1832) of 204 to 400 mm TL were caught in Solomon Islands, Wallis and Futuna Islands, and Vanuatu Islands. These captures confirm the presence of the species for these areas of the Pacific Ocean.
