RadWorld is a relational database designed to provide information about the taxonomy, and geographic and stratigraphic distribution of all described genera and species of Radiolaria from the Paleozoic through the Cenozoic.

RadWorld currently contains references to the original descriptions and type species of over 2527 genera (and subgenera) and the original descriptions of over 6411 species of Radiolaria. All taxonomic information prior to 1860 has been entered. Taxonomic data after 1860 is partially completed. References (RadRefs) to 4249 papers pertaining to Radiolaria can also be found in the database. Some stratigraphic and geographic distribution data has been entered, but is still incomplete.

At the present time the database user may view the original descriptions and subsequent revisions of about 520 genera and the descriptions and illustrations of their type species. Other genera will be added to this web site at irregular intervals.

For additional information about the description and stratigraphic range of Cenozoic radiolarian biomarkers see http://www-odp.tamu.edu/publications/tnotes/tn27/TOC_CEN.HTM A technical note compiled by C. Nigrini and A. Sanfilippo.
