I learned my PhD diploma at the Muséum National d'Histoire
Naturelle of Paris in 2003, and have been a researcher at the
Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) since 2005.
My research interests are centered on phylogenetics,
integrative taxonomy, phylogeography, conservation genetics and species distribution modelling. More specifically, I am currently involved in the following three main projects: (i) adaptive radiation in Andean lakes; (ii) rainforest refugia, biodiversity dynamics and biogeographic barriers in tropical Africa; (iii) phylogeography of invasive species translocated
from the tropics. The taxa targetted are (non-micro-)mammals and freshwater teleosteans. My general aim is to provide exhaustive estimates of biodiversity patterns and adaptive / speciation processes through an integrative eco-evolutionary approach.

My post-doctoral research is presently focused on explaining
large-scale geographical patterns of freshwater fish diversity,
especially those related to differentiation diversity (i.e. beta
diversity) that describes the change in species composition
(or species turnover) between places. Beta diversity can
provide important insights for our understanding of the
processes that govern the distribution and diversity of
organisms. In addition, beta diversity has important
implications in the field of conservation biogeography.

I am in charge of documentary resources and specialized in the valorisation of scientific information targeting different kinds of people. My work is hence related to documentation, to difusion and promotion of scientific editions and to educational expositions and communication towards a broad audience. The main topics of my communication work concern relationships between man and nature in tropical realms. |

My research focuses on the role of different spatial scales in the
regulation of freshwater fish communities. I am also interested in
examining the consequences of anthropogenic effects on fish community
structure and function.

My research works target the understanding and the development of a framework for freshwater fish diversity, distribution and dynamics. My main topics are presently focused on (1) macroecological patterns of native and endemic species related to their life history traits, (2) factors involved in the temporal dynamics at the population and community levels and (3) basic life history traits helping to explain the evolution and ecology of freshwater fish species. To "aborder" these different topics, I am currently involved in the following three main projects: (1) the drivers of freshwater fish richness and endemism at the global scale; (2) the ecology and life history of mosquitofish; and (3) the drivers of the temporal variability of abundances of fish communities in north-western France.
As a very broad perspective of these works, I am participating to the "Freshwater Animal Diversity Assessment" (FADA) initiative that focus on the knowledge of taxonomical and biogeographical patterns of all freshwater animal organisms.
