La
Société d’Etudes Ornithologiques de France
(S.E.O.F.) a vu le jour en 1993, suite au rapprochement des deux sociétés
ornithologiques nationales : la Société Ornithologique
de France et la Société d’Etudes Ornithologiques.
Son siège social est domicilié au Muséum National
d’Histoire Naturelle - Case postale 51 - 55 rue Buffon - 75231
Paris cedex 05 (France).
La S.E.O.F. réunit une structure de réflexion pour accueillir
les données scientifiques rassemblées par des ornithologues
professionnels ou amateurs et assurer après validation leur publication
à destination du plus grand nombre. Elle organise et coordonne
des enquêtes, suscite et oriente des travaux d’études
et de recherche. Elle se tient prête à tout moment pour
répondre à des demandes de collaboration nationales ou
internationales.
En partenariat avec les associations régionales, elle met à
la disposition de tous son riche fonds documentaire, répond aux
demandes de renseignements et de fourniture de photocopies sur place
ou encore par courrier postal et courrier électronique.
Outre la publication d’une revue scientifique trimestrielle Alauda,
d’audience internationale, elle a développé l’édition
de monographies d’espèces, de livres thématiques,
de faunes nationales ou régionales et participé aussi
en partenariat à l’édition de bibliographies nationales
ou encore d’un "Livre rouge" sur les espèces menacées.
Son expérience éditoriale grandissante et reconnue est
mise à la disposition des particuliers ou des structures associatives
pour aider à la publication d’ouvrages scientifiques, de
disques-compacts et d’actes de colloques nationaux ou régionaux.
La S.E.O.F. apporte enfin son concours à la rédaction
d'Atlas et prodigue ses conseils à l’organisation de sorties
ou de voyages ornithologiques.
The Société d’Etudes
Ornithologiques de France (S.E.O.F.) came into being
in 1993, following the merger of the two national ornithological
societies: the Société Ornithologique
de France and the Société d’Etudes Ornithologiques.
Its headquarters are situated at the Muséum National d’Histoire
Naturelle - 55 rue Buffon, Case postale 51, F-75231 PARIS cedex 05.
The S.E.O.F. provides a structure to gather scientific data collected
by professional or amateur ornithologists and, after validation, assures
their publication to a wider audience. It organises and coordinates
surveys, motivates and orients applied and research studies. It is always
keen to be involved in national or international collaborations. In
partnership with regional associations, it makes available to all its
vast reserves of documents and answers requests for information and
photocopies on the spot, by post or by e-mail.
Besides the quarterly publication of a scientific review, Alauda, which
has an international audience, it has edited species’ monographies,
thematic books, national or regional fauna and has participated in
partnerships leading to the edition of national bibliographies and
of a “red book” of endangered species. Its growing and
recognised editorial experience is made available to individuals and
associations to contribute to the publication of scientific books,
CD-Roms and conference proceedings, both national and regional.
Finally, the SEOF offers help to realize atlas and advise with the organisation
of ornithological excursions and trips.
